Actually, to be quite honest, I looked at the bride and said, "Wow, she looks just like Coretta Scott King!" Then I looked at the groom, then back and forth a couple more times, then I figured it out.

older face, MLK's really doesn't. Or maybe it's the photo. Or maybe I'm just sh** at recognizing faces.

Even considering MLK in this photo looked virtually the same has he looked throughout his public career and at the end of his life (he lived only 15 more years) ... And the photo was tweeted from Bernice King referencing her parents?

Wow.

I recognized their daughter's name, that's why I knew who they were.

Mr. King's cheekbones are slimmer in this 1953 wedding photo. Mrs. King was a fashionable lady that changed the style of her hair and went from having bangs that were styled on her forehead to pushing them back away from her forehead later in life which changed her appearance.

Other DU members aren't your enemy and making condescending remarks and belittling the ones who didn't know who was in the photograph was insensitive and inappropriate. We have several here that are disabled and also have vision problems, something that you might want to consider in the future.

You can continue replying if you wish; I'm done.

Beautiful! I love Martin Luther King, Jr. And Coretta was one powerful woman. She was a solid supporter of Rubin during his incarceration. He told me that in many ways, she made Martin appear moderate!
