Trump's 1987 NYT advertisement re: Japan

Craig Unger
@craigunger
Yes, it was an active measure—and, as I show in American Kompromat, evidence that Trump was an intelligence assrt for the KGB.

On Sept 2 1987 Donald Trump published a full page ad in The NY Times, Washington Post and Boston Globe attacking the US-Japan alliance. Was this a Soviet active measure ? Former KGB officer Yuri Shvets claims that it was. My latest for @japan_indepth ( in Japanese ) @craigunger twitter.com/japan_indepth/…

I think the 2007-12 attacks by Trump on Obama were also on behalf of his Russian masters.

And on and on and on...

It feels like we've been informed of so much dating back to the time that should have landed his ass in the middle of a RICO prosecution and conviction times the power of 10.

Yet here he remains free as an effing bird, involved in plans for a different angle on staging a coup, in plain sight.

Several possible answers, probably.

Once the Cold War was over they figured no more worries. Budget cutbacks support that idea.

Ongoing operation to cast a wide net on espionage leaks? There was Venona Project, so it's been done before.

Enemies of America include dictators, former near dictators, the business community, and capitalists. All prefer a weak US. Capitalists and spies share certain objectives - protection of assets, perhaps even money. Many international businessmen, now known as oligarchs, of course, invested in Germany in the 1930s in hopes of making money. So some of the guys protecting us are possibly also trying to make a buck off it. Some of them may be high office holders with connections in Moscow.

Others feel free to add their own ideas. Shameful that we know so little.

Books have been written detailing parts of the story, but at some point the high stakes espionage and corruption regarding intelligence services role has to be spelled out and dealt with.

And much resentment was present there due to homes being purchased door to door. Basically Japanese business men writing checks for properties. It drove up housing and locals were very angry about it.
