Where is the pulse of America?

In religion and philosophy, there is a place somewhere between Heaven and Hell that is called Purgatory.

In politics, there is a similar place between stability and chaos. Is that where America is today? Or are we just on our way?

How can the country be so evenly divided? Where is the sanity?

What direction is our nation going?

Where is the justice? Why is no one going to jail?

Where is the pulse? Are we just floating somewhere in the middle?

(I'm reminded of an old Doc Watson song: If you want a good cool drink of water, you gotta dig a little deeper in the well)

We're not evenly divided. The 2020 election shows that. lagomorph777 Jun 2021 #2

sane people, insane people, and people who just can't be bothered to care. The ones who don't care are worse in my opinion.

There are people going to jail. Sadly, it's just the puppets. The puppet masters will never see any jail time.

This might be the end result of having too much freedom.

We're truly in awful shape right now.

However, we do have a Constitution, laws, and political practice which are unfairly favoring the minority side, giving the illusion of even division.

The Senate is blatantly biased to empower low-population states over the will of the people (1 acre/1 vote).

The House is Gerrymandered by GQP state legislatures; this magnifies the illusion of even division. This helps explain 2020 also.

SCROTUS has been brazenly packed by the GQP.

all favoring red states with smaller populations, this would be a different county—left of center with a government and policies which reflect that.

And the extreme wealth disparities would be much less.
