They are pretending to be Ticketmaster and scamming people.
Be careful friends.
They are pure fraudsters.

(18,497 posts)Hard to feel sorry for anybody that would (and could) pay that much for tickets and not check.
Many of those sites also make it look like available tickets are scarcer than they are.

(65,227 posts)I found out The Fixx was playing at The Vic in Chicago, on the day of the show.
I couldn't find available companions, so I went alone.
Guy asks me if I need a ticket. $50. The tickets were $28.
I say no.
Then 2 other guys come up, but they had a 3rd ticket because their friend decided to take the overtime money.
He says "If you give us $15 for our parking, the ticket's yours."
So I paid $15.
Thing about that first guy: the show was a hundred or so short of a sell out. I knew it wasn't sold out by checking, you guessed it...Ticketmaster!

(18,497 posts)Amazing how much cheaper they are.
And. Yes that extra ticket was worthless to them.

(11,988 posts)I wouldn't buy anything like that since I believe the band owns the rights to their own merchandise

(11,988 posts)Maybe the ticket brokers on the ticketfaster website are also trying to support themselves.
At least they aren't probably breaking any laws unlike the steeet vendors who are stealing someone else's copywrited name or logo

(42,769 posts)Even if the website is online for only a week they will have made
enough money to make creating the website worthwhile.
And speaking of crime does pay ... Trump proved that point beyond question.

(9,998 posts)We are a resale marketplace, not the ticket seller.
Prices are set by third-party sellers and may be above or below face value.
Your seats are together unless otherwise noted.
All prices are in USD.
They're basically a ticket broker.

(32,791 posts)Do the credit card companies even know these guys are crooks?
Probably not, until people complain and demand chargebacks.
MichMan
(11,988 posts)It is a ticket broker resale site. The price is listed before you agree and hit buy. They aren't scamming anyone and most likely operate legally.

(100,107 posts)It's fucking infuriating. Ticketmaster just allows the bots to screw everything up and by the time you can actually get tickets, they're all sold out! Why have Ticketmaster when the damn bots are going to buy up all the tickets and then hawk them at Stub Hub for twice the price? Something needs to be done about this!

Tickets went on sale at a certain time, bots got on, bought up all the tickets. Then offered them for resale at a much higher price.
If thats how its going to be, Ill pass on the concert.
