Historical anecdote: only 20 members of congress (senate and house) have ever been expelled.
18 of them were expelled either because of their activity before or during the Civil war. The other 2 were, drum roll please, Democrats. Skipping on past 1862 to 1980 and 2002.
Does that just go to show that Democrats are the party that cleans it's own house or allows the cleaning of its house?
Whether that's the case or not, what IS true is that Republicans simply do neither. Apparently, with them, once you're in, you're covered against all eventualities except the occasional primary challenge.
This is especially telling these days, in the face of the total and obviously nonsensical propaganda and obfuscation coming from their camp's individual members. Important more-so since there is continual, real and ongoing illegal activity on their doorstep. The situation here is that their illegal activities are systemic, ongoing throughout their whole representative presence. They just can't shake the syndrome. It will be telling when/if one of their own is expelled for crime(s) soon or even ever.
