Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) on Tuesday threw her support behind former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner (D) in her bid to represent the Ohio's 11th Congressional District.
Pressey said Turner, who previously served as a national co-chair of Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign, has been unapologetic in her advocacy and her vision for the communities in her district.
As Ive always said, policy is my love language, and I know Nina shares my belief in what we can accomplish when we create policies intentionally and in deep partnership with the community. Im proud to endorse her candidacy, and look forward to working with her in Congress, she added in a statement obtained by The Hill.
The endorsement makes Pressley the latest member of the progressive group of female congresswomen which also includes Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) to back Turner in the race.

I guess she forgot about the now infamous bowel-of-shit analogy.

Even the New York Times observed in their article on Clyburn's endorsement:
(they cleaned it up, but we all know what she really said)

By the way, since you brought up young progressives, Shontel Brown is younger than both Nina Turner and Ayanna Pressley.

(84,031 posts)She is from MA and though not my rep I respected her. She went outside the Squad in her support of Hill. She literally bared her soul when she bared her head. I loved her courage. She left the box and then went back inside to stand in solidarity with a few.

(3,285 posts)I have no doubt that she will. She's holding her nose and running as a Democrat because she has no other way to get on the ballot, so she'll go back to the People's Party first chance she gets.

??? You read all this in a tweet about Biden and Harris and a comment that Clyborn endorsed Shontel only to callout the twitter person having a low opinion that person has of Democrats.
UMM it was a very happy loving pic of the Pres and VP.

Mr Clyburn has crazy respect in the black community.
If picking between two black women - he selected the one who is prepared to work day one.
Not surprised by the Pressley endorsement. That crew sticks together no matter what.

As for Pressley, Liu, and others, no one who supports anyone who betrayed the nation and the Democratic Party to the Republicans, the white nationalists, the religious right, the oligarchs, the Russians, everyone we do and should fear, will ever get a nickle from me. I don't excuse betrayal.

(3,285 posts)Bingo, and that's where Nina loses me, to say nothing of her comments regarding President Biden.
As for her campaign contributions, I recall someone (I believe it was George II) here on DU saying that the bulk of those contributions are coming from out of state.

(58,785 posts)donations can match the big donor money swamping the race from outsiders who presumably approve her efforts to defeat Democrats in 2016. Nothing succeeds like horrible success for those who despise the Democratic Party? Trump demonizes us all as "radical left," but he owes so much to them. It's very ungrateful of him.

This isn't a lone statement. She spent the primary pushing deceits and calumny against Democrats on behalf of Sanders and then the GE;also campaigning to defeat Democrats.
