Was the entire Republican Party deceived by the "Big Lie" ?

Or are most of them only pretending to be deceived? They knew it was a lie but it advanced their cause?

It seems to me that the latter would be more disgusting? They weren't deceived at all. They just wanted revenge and to get the best of the "libs". They didn't care about our country or our democracy. To them, it was like WWE.

But, the Party leaders wants everyone to believe that no one was deceived. So long as they win their next election, they don't really care what happens otherwise.

I’m sure a couple of their very dumbest people believe it but most of them know better. The base is completely bought in though and so they must appear to be as well. It’s pure craven political calculation.

At least not (most of) the politicians. Some of the insurrectionists, maybe. Many in the GOP may not believe it personally and likely detest Trump but are going along with it just so that they don't get flat-out killed by TFG's debased base if he identifies them as insufficiently loyal to him. He doesn't have the means to incite his supporters like he once did but he still has plenty of surrogates to help spread his messages.

hanging on to power. They've known for years that the non-existent "election fraud" they push to their stupid voting base is nonsense and they knew there was no evidence of Trump's lies.
