Tyson recalls 8.5 mln pounds of frozen chicken over contamination fears

July 3 (Reuters) - Tyson Foods Inc (TSN.N) is recalling nearly 8.5 million pounds of frozen, fully cooked chicken over fears of possible exposure to a harmful bacteria, the company said in a statement late on Saturday.

The products were made at a plant in Missouri between Dec 26, 2020 and April 13, 2021, according to the statement.

"While there is no conclusive evidence that the products were contaminated at the time of shipment, the voluntary recall is being initiated out of an abundance of caution," the U.S. meat processor said.

Looks like the plant had sloppy cleaning practices to let contamination linger for that long.

Meat eating is considered by some anthropologists to be the reason why we survived the evolutionary odds to become what we are today (a good and bad outcome). Meat eating is central to the human diet, we certainly can eat less of it, but getting rid of it universally would put the human species on a track that it has zero experience with enmass. Yes, small segment of the human population don’t eat meat, but the vast majority does to varying degrees.

intestines, feces and bacteria.

Meat is killing the planet, too.
Animal agriculture alone is responsible for 18% of global climate change – more than all forms of transportation combined. Cows produce 150 billion gallons of methane per day, which is 25-100 times more destructive than CO2.

Food lines that involve blood should be cleaned at least once DAILY. The contamination should have been caught on the first day.
