Pres Biden stopped by @MoomersIceCream in Traverse City, Michigan on Saturday. For his order, he got double dipped waffle with vanilla chocolate chip. Moomers was named the best ice cream parlor in Flag of United States. The parlor makes more than160 different flavors of ice cream

(892 posts)I have mentioned on DU before that my father died when I was only two years old and my mom remarried the following year. My stepfather was an abusive man to all four of us children but focused his hatred and bullying more on me.
Well, I used to lie in bed on many a night and imagine what it would be like to have a nice father. I patterned these images of men on I had seen on TV programs.....like Walt Disney, Captain Kangaroo, Leave It to Beaver, etc. I would sometimes have actual dreams in which I had a family that interacted joyfully and laughed and did lots of fun things together!
I only am telling you that to let you how much it means to me to know that men like Joe Biden exist. I certainly did not know many good men when I was growing up, but I saw kind, caring, compassionate men on television. I am so glad that I did see them because it gave me such hope. And I was lucky to marry such a man, too....a decent, loving, generous, considerate husband and father.
Sometimes when I see photos of Joe, I just want to cry. My heart is so overjoyed to see him interact with people. He is always smiling. He is so warm and approachable, so compassionate, yet also strong.
I realize that no one is perfect and I'm sure that he has his flaws, as we all do, but in the eyes of this once-abused child, he is an absolute giant of a man. I adore him.
Thank you, Joe, for being you.

(945 posts)...somewhere that Joe was lactose intolerant. If so, I would hate to have drawn the short straw in the SS detail.

(945 posts)...I don't know. That's alot of ice cream. Then again, the progress he's made on vaccines alone warrants his being able to get free ice cream for life.

With Joe, everyone wins.
With TFG, not so much.
First picture, two guys wearing jackets. Security, right? Only one reason to wear a jacket, it's warm, by looking how others are dressed.

(66,465 posts)In addition to being a squalid, vulgar asshole, TFG was also a pathetic insecure loser, and he carried it around with him like a foul cloud, bringing down anyone and everyone who possessed human sympathy and empathy.
Joe Biden loves life, and loves people. He carries that joy around with him wherever he goes...
