UPDATE: Don Jr is also making admissions and implicating his dad: "They say he didn’t pay taxes on $1.7 million over 16 years, that’s the New York state 8% of that, $136,000. Half of that was because my father paid for his grandchildren’s school..."

That time Don Jr incriminated himself after watching daddy doing the same thing an hour earlier 🤣

Gifts, beyond an exlcuded amount per recipient annually, are taxable as part of the gift-giver's estate. They are not income to the recipient.

to expect that Jr. or Eric will shoot off at the mouth about something about their great 'Daddy' that will send them all circling the porcelain bowl on their way to a 'government funded facility' - JAIL!!!!!

what that POS Jr is admitting too. He basically said the CFO should have paid taxes on those perks.

I know we want trump in general population, but that won’t get him on that, sadly.

That means Trump Org defrauded the government when it printed W-2’s that didn’t include those dollars.

close associates.

When Jr said “trump paid,” he could well mean the trump organization. And even if trump walked down to the school and plunked down $70K, the CFO should and likely did, know he was responsible for income taxes. I assure you, trump couldn’t prepare a payroll with correct income and withholdings.

I hope trump goes down, but folks are too quick to think this is the evidence to do it. It’s not. Maybe someday.

His dip wit son acknowledging they were for school tuition confirms the allegation. Prior to this Trump could have said the checks were to repay a loan, buy Girl Scout cookies etc. but not now.

in anything that will convict him.

The organization might owe a few bucks in Medicare taxes, but that won’t get trump. That’s why CFO was indicted and assessed the taxes he owed on perks. He may get a hefty penalty in addition to paying taxes and stiff interest. A jail sentence might be in offing, but not for trump, at least on this one.

I do hope I’m wrong.

A grandparent can pay for a grandchild's tuition without incurring a gift tax - provided that it was from personal assets and paid directly to the school.

If the check came from a corporation controlled by the grandparent, I don't think the exclusion applies. Or if the check goes to the child who then pays the school, it is not exempt from gift taxes.

Same for medical expenses -- you have to pay the hospital, clinic, etc. directly for the gift tax exclusion to apply.
