Surfside building collapse: Engineers prepare for demolition; search for 121 suspendedDoes that mean people will have to deal with knowing their loved ones are buried in a landfill?
If so, that seems rather shocking to me.

(4,425 posts)If it goes right, it wont fall on the debris pile of the collapsed structure. Once it is down, the search for the victims will resume.
The risk of leaving the ruins standing is too great, especially for the searchers.

I expect that means an implosion demolition, where they have it fall in on itself, not onto the collapse debris.

(25,246 posts)The people that lived in those Condo's have vacated them - but did they have time to collect their belongings before they had to vacate? Or where they shuttled out without being able to save their stuff?
Where are those people being housed now? How will they be treated after their building is gone?

Do they still have to pay rent or mortgage?
