4. What is it about chiropractors?

A good friend of mine (whom I otherwise like and respect) is severely anti-vax and he's a chiropractor. I have recently learned that the entire profession of chiropractic medicine is anti-vax! These are people who call themselves "doctors" even though they have no medical school degrees. They are licensed to practice in all 50 states however.

For some reason that's beyond my comprehension, the chiropractors in the US have all agreed that they will not support the distribution of Covid vaccine, nor will they themselves get vaccinated. (As a group they've stuck to that, even though some have quietly gotten vaccinated on their own.)

It doesn't appear to me to be politically motivated, many of them aren't Republicans or Libertarians. Either they just don't believe in vaccines in general, or maybe they think vaccines somehow against their profession(?)... I don't get it.

Does anyone know why this is?
