After 20 years, if the Afghan forces cannot stop the Taliban, what makes anyone believe that they

ever will be?

The way much of the media has been pushing the narrative, along with Republican propaganda, that it will be The fault of the Biden administration if Afghanistan falls under Taliban control is absurd

What are they suggesting? That we should be there for another 20 years, 40 years, forever?

I don’t recall the media being as “concerned” when trump wanted to pull US troops out of Afghanistan.

Our objective was met. We pushed bin laden out of Afghanistan, eliminated him and AQ for the most part

President Biden made his views on Afghanistan very clear even before he ran for President. Enough is enough

We can not move it. The military could nuke it off the earth and the republicans would still bitch about the operation they started and screwed up. The draw down was announced and planned by trump stable genius.

No matter when we pull out, the Taliban is going to make a resurgence, and maybe the Afghan military can fight them off, maybe not. But like when do you finally call it over? Either you can make a planned withdrawal, or you can have it end like Saigon, with the last people being choppered out from the roof of the american embassy.

if he had won the withdrawal would not have occurred.

withdrawal is the right thing to do, but, as usual, we are holding the bag

hold the extremists at bay here, especially when 75% republicans believe the “left” is responsible for Jan 6th

There are a few times in this country when our democracy was on the line after we became a country

The Civil War
FDR, and WWII
Johnson and the Civil Rights movement
and right now

I am not sure if we will prevail this time
