Walking on the moon was a great advancement...........but............ ..........Here it is:

....IN ORDER TO GET TO THE MOON, THE SCIENTIST HAD TO .....DOWNSIZE COMPUTERS AND COMPUTER CONTENTS TO FLY TO THE MOON................................................

..(you do understand that one, don't you?) Computers on space ships, and their
contents had to be small enough to be put on the space capsules & get to and from the moon.

The downsizing of computers & their contents started with the space race and continued into the 70s, and 80s...and later..The scientists and technologists continued to downsize them for many reasons.

Yes, making computers and their contents much smaller (and ultimately cheaper) was a result of downsizing of computers to go to the moon and then for other purposes.......................................
Yes, at one time computers were the size of a small room with all the huge stuff inside.
Now you can hold one in your hand...(I recall in the late 70s or early 80s taking an early course on
how to operate a very simple computer...and the professor said that one day they would be so small and cheap that you could hold one in your hand...and talk to it....and...at the time,.
I thought he was totally nuts....guess what he wasn't nuts, it was me who was wrong...:

If you think this is wrong, read up on the history of computer downsizing and the chips and contents inside the computers and hand held computers (cell phones) that we have .

.You will find that the scientists ultimately made the computers so small and so cheap, that everyone has one...(almost everyone)...And learning how to operate them and work them is taught in the first 4 or 5 grades in grammar school.............................................

that a TI83 Texas Instrument pocket calculator had more calculating power than the Apollo computers.

3. Thank You for your comment..I remember clearly in the early 70s trying to imagine

if the Star Trek computers would ever become real anytime.
..............I do remember one episode among many when they were talking into a communicator, and someone said, "Beam Me Up Scotty" and a moment later,
that person was beamed up. Yes, we don't beam anyone up yet, but we do
communicate in a hand held computer (or communicator if you wish) to anywhere at anytime.

There are no scientific advancements being made and any that are are owned by them and not by the public
