Some selfish, loser refuses to wear a mask, or leave.
They've been sitting there for a while, and now she heard that law enforcement is on the way.
I hope they remove him, and the entire plane breaks out into a raucous, jeering cheer.
UPDATE:
It was a flight from Utah to Californiaso, a short flight.
Unfortunately, I don't know what happened to the guy.
He was in his seat without a mask. The flight attendant told him he had to wear a mask. He refused. The man next to him wanted to be moved because he didn't want to sit next to a freak who didn't want to wear a mask (he probably didn't want to be near the freak WITH a mask either, after that).
But whatever happened, he lost because the flight is on the way to its destination.
I only hope he was booted and banned. Sorry I was unable to find that out (she couldn't really press her boss for that while working).

(65,010 posts)It seems so simple.
It's their plane. So, it's their rules.
And, if one doesn't wear a mask on a plane one has the freedom to not fly.

(5,722 posts)if the plane boards from a jetbridge, and if it's a smaller, ground-boarding plane there won't be enough distance to give the maskhole much worse than a few bruises.
And of course if that started happening, it would be compared to that incident in which cops were called to remove a seated passenger (involuntarily rebooked due to the flight being oversold) and proceeded to beat him to a bloody pulp before dragging him off past all the other horrified passengers.

(13,417 posts)The plane will not be taking off if they are unmasked. They will be removed from the plane and will need to find other transportation. I dont know if the airlines are cancelling the tickets of these idiots or if they are booking them on other flights. Personally, they should be added to the No Fly List for endangering others.

Go Greyhound.
It only takes 40 hours to get from Pittsburgh to Atlanta.

the maskhole should be held financially responsible for any harm caused to fliers that want to go from here to there
without a problem.

(25,396 posts)As a former airline captain, I say it is absolutely essential that they be banned .. but not only by the airline involved. They need to go to the top of the national no-fly list, for life. No airline in the US could fly these petulant pissants, anytime, anywhere in the US or abroad. And structure it so that they cannot fly on a foreign airline on any flight that originates or terminates anywhere in the US or its territories.
I have had disruptive passengers onboard before, and it is usually just obnoxious drunks. A pain in the ass, but manageable.
However, on July 29, 1989, I was flying a Boeing 737-300 on a red-eye flight from San Francisco to Philly, and we had four disruptive passenger onboard. It is a very long story, but their persistant inflight disruptions triggered a chain of events that very nearly caused a catastrophic airline accident near Denver.
After that, and up until this day, I have zero tolerance for that kind of behavior in or near my airplane, or any airplane, on the ground or in the air. Before I retired, I had the reputation as a hard-ass on that issue, but a well-respected hard-ass that most of my pilot-colleagues emulated.

(8,727 posts)Their position was developed to stop terrorists on planes. Stun guns, and throw em out the door, then to jail. Enough of these assholes. They do not want to be part of civilized society, fine, get the F out of here. Go to Texas to live.

As the captain, he has complete authority to do so as soon as you board.

(45,433 posts)Their imagined "civil disobedience" can be domestic terrorism since it's endangers the safety of everyone else and holds up other flights too. Charge them some sort of fine, no fly list, permanently banned from the airline, send them to Gitmo for enhanced interrogation or something.
20 years I've had to get stopped and frisked for extra security screening just for flying while brown and these assholes get away with causing actual financial damage.
