We would have to have evidence of an actual harmful impact of the policy before wondering whether it shouldn't be the policy.

Three positive tests with only one person with minor symptoms certainly doesn't approach that threshold. At this point we don't have to "decide" anything at all. We don't have to "wait" for anything.

The only mistake at this point is the apparent hypocrisy.

Absolute infection numbers don’t say anything about the risk to vaccinated people and to what extent that risk is mitigated by mask wearing.

Very few of those infections represent vaccinated individuals and we already know that even the breakthrough cases have much better outcomes.

These amazing Texas Democrats are putting everything on the line to protect the rights of voters. I think they're brave as hell and snickers and tut-tuts coming from wingnuttia piss me off!

...The House Democratic caucus paid for the two private jets that flew members to Washington, D.C., on Monday, according to the caucus’ executive director, Phillip Martin, who did not provide a price tag for the flights. Otherwise, the caucus has so far split costs like meals, lodging and other transportation with the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, as well as the campaign accounts of Reps. Chris Turner of Grand Prairie and Trey Martinez Fischer of San Antonio. Turner chairs the Democratic caucus.

But with over 50 House Democrats in Washington — along with 12 paid staff — the costs are quickly mounting and the existing funds are not unlimited. Democrats have started making fundraising pitches to help finance their decampment that allows them to keep blocking the passage of GOP voting legislation in Texas...

The Democratic leaders in Texas are all vaccinated of course, but they still come in contact with the public. Considering the vaccination rate in Texas, it's likely that a few Covid spreaders are unquarantined, and walking around maskless.
