Ease of voting is one factor that makes up a criterion in a "quality of life" study that is often used to sell businesses on doing business in a particular state. Ability to do remote work is also a criterion.
The study also considers how much each state spends on health per capita, crime, environment, etc. Efforts on social justice are taken into consideration.
The name of the study is the CNBC Americas Top States for Business.
Here is their explanation of the study:

The pandemic and the push for social justice are changing the definition of quality of life. CNBC takes those changes into account in the latest Americas Top States for Business study.

This has led to a list of the 10 Worst States in which to live. They are the states that have enacted restrictive voting laws and which spend little on health per capita.
There is also a 10 Best States in which to live. The best state is Vermont and I am pleased to see that my state, NJ, also makes the top 10 list. In the explanation, credit is given to our progressive Democratic governor, Phil Murphy. Go Phil!!!
I am posting this because the restriction of voting laws leads to a downgrading in the status of the state as it is represented to business. It might mean fewer businesses will consider relocating there. I would like to see these republican governors/legislatures explain how this is good for their state.
