I've always wondered about that statistic - "X" Americans with 1 shot - and what that means.

A couple of questions:

1. Does that mean these people stopped at 1 shot and are not getting the 2nd shot?

2. Are these people that are already vaccinated with the 1 shot - awaiting the time period in-between and they will ultimately get their 2nd shot?

3. Can't we make a calculation as to how many total Americans will be completely vaccinated by projecting those that have 1 shot and when they will get their 2nd shot to be totally vaccinated?

I'm glad I didn't get side effects with the first dose. I would have really dreaded the second.

But I still would have gotten it.

2. You can't 'calculate' what Americans will do.

Just like you can't 'assume' that Americans will all get their free Covid shots in the midst of a raging pandemic, you can't assume that all Americans will listen to medical experts when they say that two shots are necessary for protection.

3. I can tell you that for England, about 4% of the older age groups stopped at just 1 dose

of a 2-dose vaccine (which is all of the ones used in England).
