A federal immigration official declined to tell Lewis how many people were being held at the Atlanta airport before retreating back into his office. Soft-spoken and resolute, Lewis turned to a gathering crowd of immigration advocates and attorneys and said almost in a whisper: Why dont we just sit down and stay a while.

Not one thing was slipping past him. He was a man on a mission... like he always was.
Such a great man. I miss him daily.

The humble power of Mr Lewis will never be forgotten. He would greet me with his how are you my brother or would thank me with a thank you my brother and I swear my heart, like the Grinches heart would grow two sizes that day.
We need leaders like John Lewis now as they did during the civil rights movement. I do miss him.
