"We must never allow people to get away with murdering our children,"

said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Yet, over the weekend there were 12 (count 'em, TWELVE) mass shootings leaving 11 dead and 49 injured.

We allow this to happen. The gun lobby isn't invincible. Politicians are more afraid of US than they are of losing contributions. We have votes. They only have money.

Even Republicans don't want to be shot or have their children taken from them. When will WE learn to USE our votes?

I get so tired of writing this stuff and weeping.

We have power but we can't see it, and this keeps us from using it.

I am guilty.

That said, I do this because on December 14, 2012 I watched the Sandy Hook tragedy un fold on CNN and MSNBC with my 3 year old grand daughter on my lap. That changes a man.

I do this for a reason.

95 - 5 the energy is on the 5 so it is all but impossible to get massacre control passed especially with the Senate.

like the 5 do now, I don't see anything getting done. And that doesn't even count the judiciary which thanks to Trump's and to a lesser extent Bush's appointees is very pro gun. I am not sure that the SCOTUS would uphold very many regulations.

Until and unless we get the money out of politics we will not win. We must focus on that! We dilute our efforts because for some people their issue might be climate change or immigration or another issue. Those problems are not fixed either because we are fighting the symptoms of this problem, I.e. guns, environment, taxes, voting rights… and not the root cause.

The other root problem is the Donor class’s leverage over our media. They use the media to manipulate and mislead us. The media needs ad dollars and that is the leverage. We must require truth in our media and not allow them to intentionally lie to us like they do with COVID and hundreds of other things.

We all need to focus on these two things to the exclusion of everything else, but it needs to be a full court press.

To the gun industry, dead children are merely collateral damage/acceptable losses for gun industry profits and political donations.

Even if all gun lobbying ended today and we were able to pass a couple laws, we still have millions of guns out there in the hands of a trigger happy population. This addiction to using guns to solve problems is a sickness that our society has to cure.

SO damn tired of the DAMNED gun violence!

Hey, be glad I’m not running this. I’d get rid of ALL the guns. ALL of ‘em.

And btw - can I have my two friends back? Dead in murder/suicide - by one of their own GUNS. All it took was one argument. ONE argument.
