These traitors intended to undo an election, and murder members of the government.
Harsher sentencing would not be about vengeance. It would be about punishment, which is fully deserved here, and deterrence.
Most of them could have and, IMO should have, died that day. They didn't, but that should be the end of their good luck i9n this matter. Admitting guilt for something you were caught red-handed doing is meaningless. Does anyone believe that any of these
traitors would have gotten a guilty conscience and turned themselves in?

would be quite rehabilitative. I doubt they'd ever pull a stunt like that again.

Also, what's so wrong with being punished for what they did?

He will lose his job, and probably his car and home while inside. He will also carry around the label of felon for the rest of his life. I see that as more then enough punishment. He was the first to plead guilty and the judge believed his remorse to be real... I accept that.
