I’m thinking it might be smart. It would help o contain it a bit. There would be legal challenges of course along with militant protest among the antivaxxers and all that. But what it would do is “inoculate Biden and Dems from criticism about growth and spread of the Delta variant.

An act of Congress probably would be necessary, and it probably wouldn't survive unless/until the vaccines are approved for normal use.

The antivaxxers would be up in arms, literally. It could start a civil war.

And I wouldn't blame them, really. I still believe in the freedom to choose what happens to your body, no matter what the consequences. Even if you could justify forced vaccinations in this one case, it would be a slippery slope.

Which doesn't seem like a lot, but as we have seen, it adds up to huge numbers nationwide.

That leaves 95% of the unvaccinated to rage against such a mandate. And they could have the support of many people who simply believe it violates our civil rights.

11. As others have said, this is best handled at the local level.

States, Counties, and municipalities would likely have an easier time legally to mandate vaccinated status for entry into school, or other areas, which would put pressure on people to vaccinate. Issuing a Federal mandate would likely be challenged in court and defeated, then Biden could be criticized for overreach.

The best strategy is for President Biden and every other Democrat to get in front of cameras every chance they get and talk about how people need to get vaccinated and call out Republicans for not doing the same and for casting doubt on the vaccines.
