Rick Dennison out as Minnesota Vikings assistant after refusing COVID-19 vaccine, sources say

EAGAN, Minn. -- After refusing to receive a vaccine for COVID-19, Rick Dennison is out as a Minnesota Vikings assistant coach, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Dennison, who had served as the Vikings' offensive line coach/run game coordinator the past two seasons, is believed to be the first NFL position coach to part ways with his team after choosing not to receive a vaccine.

The NFL has informed teams that if there's a Covid outbreak and a game has to be canceled, the team where the outbreak occurred not only forfeits the game, they pay the other team for their lost money, including player salaries. .

Now when are they going to implement this practice everywhere? As usual, hitting the pocketbook is the only way to get the attention of Americans, and especially rethug ones, because it seems to be the only thing seen as a real threat. If they start doing this more, the pandemic here will truly start to fade. Until we see some consequences with teeth for willful ignorance and vindictive reaction, it will be around for a long time.

That said, it helps when an action is both morally right and better for the bottom line.

of any new treatments for covid. It seems it’s still a matter of treating symptoms and hoping for the best.
