Two men to face court for allegedly hitting police horses during Sydney COVID-19 lockdown protest

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says she is "utterly disgusted" by yesterday's anti-lockdown protest in Sydney's CBD, which saw protesters wrestle with police officers.

Two men were today charged with animal cruelty after allegedly hitting police horses during the protest.

At least 57 people were arrested, as thousands marched down Broadway to Town Hall, breaching public health orders.

A 33-year-old-man and a 36-year-old are charged with offences that include committing an act of cruelty on an animal.
