(115,691 posts)Meanwhile, here in Minnesota the state health department is starting to freak out because the new case count has increased to almost 270 per day.

(40,210 posts)Many wont recover. What is wrong with people?
My mom told me this morning she saw a news report about a woman with a child sick with Covid suffering a high fever for weeks. The reporter asked her if she was vaccinated and she said no because she didnt trust the government.
That is what we are dealing with.

(12,260 posts)every year 10,000 new cases per day happens and so does the sickness and deaths.
Move along, time to make money.

(20,869 posts)I spoke with a young woman in Oklahoma the other day. She was working at home because she has COVID and did not get vaccinated.
She is still sick and resents having to have groceries delivered to her place of residence.
I felt sad for her, I really did.
However, when I asked her about if she was able to keep things clean, she said she had a dog and the dog kept the floor clean by licking everything up off of it every day.
Good gawd!
These people really are sick!
Sick!
Sick!
I hope they wake the hell up before it is too late!
malaise
(268,993 posts)I'd let them kill themselves if they weren't exposing other people to the virus

(20,869 posts)And to think I found out about the dog thing by bitching about my husband and the fact that he lets crumbs fall on the floor when he eats. I come swooping by soon after he eats with a DustBuster to vacuum up after him.
I then wash the floors after that!
No wonder these people are sick.
They seem to live in filth along with the rest of their problems.

(21,635 posts)And Fl is not even the least vaccinated state.
It's gotta be a complete removal of covid precautions that is leading to so many infections.
peppertree
(21,635 posts)As you know, he's got his evil eyes set on the White House - and the way he sees it, the only way that could happen is is, in '23 or '24 we still have a Covid crisis.
The worse, the better - as far as he (and the GOP) is concerned.
IronLionZion
(45,441 posts)Is he planning to blame Biden since the pandemic has continued in Southern GOP states? He might have fewer voters in Florida and Georgia and other swing states.
peppertree
(21,635 posts)The idea, is to wait until the death total reaches 1,000,000 (nice, round number) - and then get into non-stop wailing and bellowing about how "Biden lied - a million died!!"
Their actively encouraging people to flout vaccines and abatement measures like mask use, is essential to that goal.
And the deaths, you ask? Even among their idiots? The way they see it: You make an omelet, you break a few eggs.
malaise
(268,993 posts)This did not have to happen
peppertree
(21,635 posts)Many 3rd world countries are struggling with this because a) they're dependent on imported vacciens (always a bottleneck there) and b) their health systems can barely handle the extra load.
In our case, it was mostly GOPee inaction in 2020 - and their brazenly encouraging people to flout masks, vaccines, etc. now.
I'm convinced at this point that they want this to get as bad as possible, as they see it as the only way to (maybe) reclaim Congress and the White House.
And the deaths? Meh. You make an omelet, you break a few eggs.

(2,065 posts)Just dont come to Florida. No one masks. The governor pays no attention to the situation. He doesnt encourage vaccines in any way, shape, or form.
It is truly scary. The ICUs in Orlando are packed full. I know because a political writer in FL, Peter Shorsch, has been tweeting about it since his wife is in the ICU for sepsis. Had she been admitted to the ER now as opposed to 2 weeks ago theres have been no place to put her so she wouldve died. Fortunately she survived.

(22,656 posts)It was widely believed that going more than 40 mph would literally drive you insane.
So nothing these antiscience, antivax idiots believe, their ability to suspend belief and their irrationality isn't something new and shouldn't be surprising.
I'm deeply sad about all of the children being abused and medically neglected. This fact breaks my heart. But I'm all for cutting bait and moving on even though it makes me very sad and leaves me frustrated. It's every man and woman for themselves, apparently. My mother would refer to it as "the law of the jungle" and I believe she'd be right.

They do not need their voters anymore because they plan on stealing the election.

(65,030 posts)By contrast, Illinois had under 2,000 on Friday. Florida has around twice the people, but 9x the cases.
And, we're not at the top of the list when it comes to effective mitigation, although we're about average for vaccinations.
That's pretty disproportionate.

(1,737 posts)Some of my friends attended. It has been the topic of most conversations today. These are my people, African Americans, non-Trump supporters many of whom refuse to take the "DNA changing vaccine, that's meant to wipe out the black population" Yet, they are out partying with thousands of people during a pandemic. I've been told YOLO and that I act older than my age. It pains my heart to see the folie à plusieurs brought on by the mentally unstable former guy.
