Just in: Office of General Counsel for the House of Representatives says in new court filing that it will NOT defend Republican Mo Brooks against Eric Swalwell’s lawsuit over the Jan. 6 insurrection.

They said NAH! You were giving a political speech at a rally. That is not official business. (my paraphrase)

Hope he has some deep pockets or a cheap lawyer!

Mo's main defense to the Swalwell lawsuit is that his speech on Jan 6 was in the scope and course of his duties as a member of the House and so is protected by immunity. That defense is evidently dead
