Julie: A lot of people think if theyre vaccinated, they cant transmit. Is that true?
Phillip: So, originally we thought that might be true.
But he says thats no longer the case, thanks to the Delta variant.

(22,506 posts)people now it is like when I was exposed to other people before Covid. I could catch something from someone but I'm not going to be deathly ill or die from it. So I'm not going to worry about it. I spent well over a year worrying and I'm tired of it. For well over a year I didn't just wear a mask I avoided everyone. And I don't have one of those bubbles like so many people have. I live alone. I visited NO ONE.
So I'm meeting a friend for lunch and I'm going to enjoy it. If I catch Covid I believe what the CDC says - that it will not make me end up in the hospital and it will not kill me.

"Infectious disease experts stress that vaccinated people also have fewer symptoms, are less likely to be hospitalized and are still believed to be less likely to transmit.
However, for those who have immune-compromised people in their life, its also important to remember that you can still get COVID and give it to them even if youre both vaccinated."

Even though I'm fully vaccinated, I still mask and social distance, as well as handwashing etc.
I also avoid those that do not, even if they are friends.
