"Liberal" because a few journalists from reputable newspapers reported the truth about the Vietnam War and then the truth about Watergate and then a journalist admitted he was liberal thinking, i.e. open minded and had travelled the world and not all human beings thought like Americans, etc?

And then even worse Roe v Wade happened and some reporter mentioned that abortions weren't illegal everywhere or most places (this part I am not clear on right now as to how many places outlawed it) but the Jerry Falwell Moral Majority types went berserk and lathered people up into rage over Women having rights to their own bodies, and if you supported Women having rights this meant you were liberal and therefore godless and bad.

Ever since the media has to let cons get away with 100 crimes/violations/disgusting acts before one is held accountable but if you are a dem or liberal all you have to do is

So don't look for the MSM to demand resignation of trump when he takes the side of the KGB over the CIA, on national TV. Or when he kills half a million people due to neglect and negligence.

Dont look to them even now to call out GOP leaders who are making it illegal to require masks. They arent going to do it, they cant, the rules dont allow it.

3. I would pick a point with you in that "the media" ownership

has dramatically changed in the years since the infamous Powell memo (@1969) was circulated among the Republicans pointing out that they ran most of the media and why the hell were they letting the media treat conservatives that way.

Between that time and today the vast preponderance of media is owned by very, very right wing corporations who pretty much have editorial control.

So back in the '60s CBS was headed by William Daley - very right wing. NBC was Sarnov(? not sure but mostly one right wing family). Can't remember who ran ABC. There were no big national newspaper corporations. The NY Times swung both ways as it still does. The Tribune Company only had a few papers. After the Powell memo some of the bigger players started flexing some editorial control. Before that accuracy was the main goal.

Come Reagan and we saw the relaxation of the media ownership rules, This led to corporations and consolidation which in turn led to much greater editorial control by the home office.

So I think you are aiming a little off the target when you blame "the media." The media is doing what its corporate masters want. They have now been joined by social media to create a hell of an reverb chamber.

But the bottom line id duper rich fuckers who pretty much control what most of us read and listen to. Something needs to be done to bust these huge accumulators of money and power.

I don't know about the Sarnoffs either. I did go to school with one of the kids. All I know is he was, in 1977, the only student with a color tv.
Joking aside, I think the New York media, and then it was only New York, had a moderate northeast liberal slant. And we were better off for it.
