Anyone know whether DeSantis' no-masks order applies to charter (or religious private) schools?

Been curious about this and not seen it addressed in any articles about it.

Edit:
Assuming the answer is no it doesn't apply to them, as stated downthread, then as a parent, if you're concerned about 'no-mask' rules in public schools, you have the additional options of:
1) Homeschooling, or
2) Finding a private or charter school that's allowed to give a shit about protecting your child's health by requiring masks and/or vaccines for eligible kids.

That seems convenient, if your goal as a Repuke government is undermining public education, doesn't it?

Another question I have is ... the order said it's 'up to the parents' ... does that mean that the parents can inform the school/teachers that their child IS to wear a mask, and the school is obliged (or even allowed) to 'police' that situation for such children? Because how many parents actually think their kid is going to wear the mask at school just because mom and dad said they need to?

Not many are that naive, I'd wager.

2. Of COURSE they are doing that to undermine public education.

Republicans hate public schools (aka”liberal indoctrination camps”) because they teach truth, facts, thinking skills, and no religion. And are funded by that evil process called taxation. Any time they can stick it to public schools and public school teachers, they will. Even going as far as to promote death by Covid.

And if a public school teacher has six classes of 30 plus kids per day, how is he or she expected to teach, keep order, and do everything else teachers are expected to do these days, in addition to being the mask police? It’s an unreal expectation.

I’m sure Republican run state legislatures who get this dangerous nonsense passed are all merrily high-five-ing each other.

3. If it's like Abbott's order, private and charters can have mask mandates

DeSantis and Abbott must get together at night a plot as to who can have the worst executive orders

4. Charter schools are funded in Florida through the same finance program as our public schools.

And since DeSantis has said he will withhold funding from schools that have mask mandates, I'm assuming that will also apply to the charter schools.

6. Thanks for the insight. I see a lot of mention of 'school districts' in the EO ...

So are these charters part of the same 'school districts' as the public ones, out of curiosity?

GOP state legislators are telling parents to apply for vouchers and choose a private school if they want one that requires masks. Oh, and more local to me, my district just voted to make masks optional but all of the private schools in my county requires them.

12. I believe vouchers are another evil GOP plot to suck money away from public schools.

Jeb Bush came up with that idea, didn’t he? I never understood how that was Constitutional.
