4. When we were growing up in the sixties and seventies,

Emergency Broadcast System tests used to break in on TV and radio all the time. The beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep seemed a lot longer then too. Apparently the EAS still runs tests, but I'm left wondering why we rarely hear them these days, to the point of needing an announcement. Annoying as EBS test messages were, it least you knew somebody was bothering to see that it worked.

I do love that they're doing this, as well as the timing. Intentional or not, it's a big "unlike the other guy, we are preparing for you" message. GOOD.

The test on the 11th will include text messages, which is probably why this is getting attention

Tests are always late at night now! (Between 2 and 5 am) Maybe because stations are on air all the time?

during an emergency could be a coincidence.
