a while ago, I figured Trump set this up. Trump would want another governor who could work behind-the-scenes and either get rid of the charges or pardon him outright if convicted. Another Al Franken hatchet job.
But more and more women came forward.
And Letitia James, the NYAG, who was selected by Cuomo, campaigned with him, elected with his help, found evidence of widespread sexual harassment yesterday. She was beyond impartial; she arose above politics and chauvinism.
This is larger than Trump. Even if it did start out that way, it's so pervasive that it doesn't matter as much, if at all.
And Cuomo's defense of being affectionately Italian doesn't come off as convincing. Maybe he is/was, but he also has another side. He is not Leo Buscaglia. ("Love is always bestowed as a gift - freely, willingly and without expectation. We don't love to be loved; we love to love." )
There is something to wisdom of knowing when it's time to leave.

(1,746 posts)IMHO, this situation is not at all the same as the Al Franken debacle. If Democrats fail to hold Cuomo accountable, then we would be handing our political enemies two of their favorite weapons--"Democrats are hypocrites," and "both sides do it."

(31,118 posts)Kind of thing. I experienced it, most everybody I know did. we just didnt talk about it. You didnt have to be pretty you only had to be young. They had to try it on every damn time. Not every man, of course, most were very civilized. But they didnt believe the other men are capable of it, so they were complicit.I dont know how it is now, I hope its better

Amazing to learn someone here thinks touching women without their consent is part of a good working relationship.

(7,644 posts)Isnt it interesting how the MSM will roast a Democrat as a distraction from GOP malfeasance every chance they get?
Knowing the Democrats will gladly throw their own to the wolves without due process of any kind whatsoever.
The republican party is so far ahead of us in strategy and tactics, not to mention money, that its no wonder were ruled by a minority. Irony of ironies, They turn our good nature and desire for fairness into a weapon to destroy us and do so pretty effectively.

It's really a sort of anti-love song but the sentiment of these opening lyrics applies to the NY governor.

(6,936 posts)Those allegations have been around longer than the Cuomo allegations and have people that would testify.
Nah....he's a Republican like that POS Trump and therefore NO investigations will be coming.
