That is to be expected. They will have their ammunition ready to attack.

That is why I think the Committee should have at least 3 witnesses ready to start with. It will be much more difficult for the Republicons to tear down 3 witnesses as opposed to one. It would be more difficult to coordinate attacks upon 3 witnesses, in my opinion.

I do believe the Committee needs a well-thought out strategy before they begin the investigation. Sun Tzu's "Know thy enemy" is good advice.

Why would anyone fear them? Plead the 5th amendment give me a break don’t show up. Lie to the Senate, just do a Kavanaugh and walk.

Democrats need to start messaging about, like you did.
Numerous little news nuggets stating the actions the repubs will throw at the media.
Get the public ready for devious repub accusatory lies directed toward the witness/s, so much so the general public will have to realize it’s all a pack of lies.
“Yea, yea, we were told about that…what else do they have? More lies? Start setting the stage now.

3. There must be *some* way to show some command of the process.

Examples must be made. Some behind the scenes leverage maybe. The whole country is ready for a show of stern justice I think. Democrats have successfully shown how bad 1/6 was. Now, the country waits to see what will be done about it.
