(14,628 posts)I went to a couple stores today during lunch. All employees and customers were wearing masks. But this is New Orleans, which is very blue, so I wasnt too surprised. Even though our hospitals are filling up, think most of the new cases are coming from the suburbs and rural areas.

(19,213 posts)It's a shame for those under 12 who can't get vaccinated, or those under 18 whose parents won't allow them to get vaccinated. Everyone else is choosing to get Covid.

(82,849 posts)There's an old math problem about an algae bloom that doubles in size every day. On Day 30, the algae completely covers the pond it has infested, and the question is when was the pond half covered? Day 29, of course, but a lot of people will say Day 15. We're about to get another lesson in exponential growth courtesy of the latest Covid 19 variant. The lesson will be repeated until we get the response right.
