... the number of death certificates can be added up and compared to average years.

The first year of the covid pandemic Florida reported about 12,000 pneumonia deaths. For the prior 10 years they had been averaging about 3-4 thousand pneumonia deaths. Kinda like republicans voodoo economics.

11. A good way to bypass mis-reporting of Covid related deaths is with this CDC graph.

It shows excess deaths due to all-cause mortality, week by week, state by state. The national rate is pretty much back to normal compared to past years, but Florida is one of the few states (along with Texas) that is still cruising along with more deaths than expected each week. Not a pretty picture.
