Students can transfer schools to avoid COVID-19 'harassment' like mask mandates, Florida's BOE says

The Florida Board of Education passed a rule Friday allowing parents in the state to skirt mask mandates that districts may enforce for their children.

The rule, passed unanimously at an emergency meeting, lets parents transfer their kids to a private school or another district if they experience "COVID-19 harassment," including mask requirements.

According to the rule, these students would qualify for a Hope Scholarship, an existing program created to protect children who are bullied, assaulted, harassed or threatened in school.

The Florida Department of Health also announced a rule on Friday requiring school districts to allow parents to opt their children out of mask mandates.

Granted, most of them won't because--Trump and Jesus! but there must be some that have more sense. Can parents get a Hope Scholarship to leave a public school that's not requiring masks to attend a private school that is?

I'm sure they're more than happy for the kids of these plague ridden parents to leave their classroom.

needs to go on strike in those states to protect the health and safety of the teachers. They should demand mask mandates and vaccination or only virtual classes. One of the main reasons for unions is safety and health when management refuses to take necessary actions.

that most red states are also "right to slave" states, therefore there are either no teachers' unions at all, or whatever teachers' unions exist are weaker than dishwater.

But if there are huge teacher shortages because few teachers are willing to work at extreme risk, then school will have to close our policies change. There is power in numbers, even if union rights have been yanked by the Repugnant Reprehensible Republiklan party

If I had a child in Florida I would be looking for a school that actually cares about the children

'I really dont care, do you?'

No, I dont. 'Asshole Christmas' NEEDS to be over. If their children getting sick is what it takes for them to come back to the Light Side, then that's what it takes and ain't nothin else gonna change that.
