My Realtor's mother died of Covid

The Realtor's sister is a good friend of my sister, which is why she's our "family Realtor." Or was, because none of us will use her again after her mother's death. All of us have bought homes this past year. This is in SOFL.

Her mother was only 65, but had a chronic disease that disabled her so badly she lived with the Realtor, who had medical POA. The Realtor's boy friend, college-aged son, and HS daughter also live at home.

The Realtor is an anti-mask, anti-vax, Qbert, which none of us knew, since she wore a mask at showings and closings and didn't mention politics. Her sister is none of these things.

They all became sick two weeks ago. Except for the son, who moved out three months ago and in with his GF's family, because he is also not anti-vax. He has gotten his first shot. The Realtor refused to get her mom a vax, and of course she and her BF didn't, nor her daughter, who is old enough.

You see where this is going.

Her mother was taken to the hospital Monday, intubated Wednesday, and died last night at 9 pm. The Realtor sobbed all week they should have been vaxxed. Her sister told my sister she and her siblings are never talking to their sister again. They had zero idea any of this was happening until it was too late, or they would have tried a court order.

The Realtor's BF was admitted late last night.

She and her daughter are still sick, and her mother is dead. Her siblings are enraged and planning to go full no contact with her.

I hope her daughter recovers, and I hope she goes to college next year and never talks to her mother again. I'm glad her son has good people to support him while he finishes at FAU.

Ideally before they die or kill someone. So I’m all in on shun and shame. Last week I shun and shamed my brother after his being unvaccinated resulted in me having to fly to Florida from AZ to care for my Dad who needed hospitalization and now this week in rehab. My brother is in easy driving distance, but since he isn’t vaccinated not letting him anywhere near my dad.

This meant I left a wonderful health compromised husband for what will wind up being 2+ weeks and risking covid and then bringing it home to my husband. I’m considering quarantining at a hotel when I return to be super safe. I would likely have come anyway initially to make the major decisions for his care, but could have left after a week and leave brother to handle rehab.

Last week when this began and I made immediate plans to fly the next day, he called to ask what he could do. I told him ‘get your fucking shot if you ever want to see him again or go to his funeral’. Idiot said he would consider it.
Once I made it to Jacksonville (24hr delay due to weather in Dallas) he texted ‘I hope you get some rest’. I replied ‘I can live without rest I’m concerned about getting Covid because so many idiots in Florida won’t get vaccinated and I’ll take it home and kill my husband’. The next day he got the vaccine. Of course, he is still 5 weeks away from being as protected as possible so no help with this current situation.

So, I am still angry at him and likely to remain so.

I've refused 3 invites from Anti-vaxxer family members and some have stopped talking to me because of it.

I refused to allow them over to my farm last Thanksgiving. They kinda invited themselves because I use to do a really big spread and it's a great location for views and winter sports . But last year, I said I didn't want to catch COVID-19, so no. Now, I'm the devil and they stopped talking to me.

They went around during the pandemic acting like normal. Went out to any restaurants and bars that would let them in. Crowded friends and family into their homes for parties. Never wore masks, never used hand sanitizer, partied last Christmas in restaurants and with new neighbors. They have never even gotten sick.

All I can say is that god protects both fools and drunks and they were probably both.

The woman obviously loved her mother enough to care for her in her home. She must have thought she was making the right decision for her, even though it was horribly wrong. She is suffering now with unfathomable guilt and grief, and she will likely never forgive herself. How does it make the world better to compound her grief by cutting her off from family and friends? How much better it would be for everyone to open their hearts beyond what they knew their hearts were capable of.

Anti-mask - is more political. But anti-vax goes across the spectrum.

POC are scared because in the past the government did them wrong in experiments like the Tuskegee Syphilis scandel in the 1930's.

And those far left folks who follow RFK Jr and celebrities and believe in popularized conspiracy theories like vaccines cause autism and GMO's are evil (both factually wrong and proven so) are part of this spectrum.

The left has it's share of far out folks who disregard facts too.

Very sad.

It's not the GMO that's the problem, it's putting Roundup on the GMO crops that's the problem. I have been doing organic for years, plus it tastes better. Put a GMO potato in a glass of water, put an organic potato in a glass of water, within days the organic potato will begin to grow "eyes" while the GMO potato will never grow eyes.

42. Yup, they design the GMOs to make the corporations money
Sun Aug 8, 2021, 10:10 AM
Aug 2021

So, they get 2 for 1 if they can sell you seeds that you can't replant unless you pay them. And you have to pour their poisonous chemicals all over them to get them to grow.

So where are the easy to grow GMOs? Where are the GMOs that don't use hardly any water, or produce 50 percent more edible fruits/seeds/plant parts? Where are the GMOs that need less nitrogen or fertilizer? Where are the GMOs that can out compete weeds and fight off viruses and mildew? There are few with built in bug protection but the plants still die from bug attacks. The bug has to eat them first before it dies and a hungry swarm will eat a lot before it dies 3 days later.

Anyway, GMOs could really help if they weren't all controlled by corporations.

that it is both impractical and undesirable to write them all off. Once she recovers (if she does), find out if she's now smart enough to get the shot. Antibodies from the disease, itself, tend to disappear after a few months and the vax is still necessary for long term immunity.

I don't know why people are taking their medical advice from ignorant randos on Fakebook, but they are, and Zuckerberg isn't lifting a finger to stop it, his precious algorithm is too important to tamper with.

Personally, I'd want to know if this woman has bothered to answer the clue phone. I also think her siblings are reacting with a lot of guilt of their own, since it seems nobody asked if Mom had gotten her shots. It's just a rotten situation all around, but not your circus and not your monkeys. If Reator Lady has caught the clue that Fakebook dogma is killing people, consider using her services again. She might be a walking disaster when it comes to anything outside her field, but she is a competent realtor.
