“The GOP base no longer believes democracy can give them the America they want. So they embrace authoritarianism to give them the America they want.”

If you could hear what I hear every day, you’d know it’s true.

That’s scary AF. A dictatorship ruled by the desires of the minority. America is more than ever likely to succumb to being like Romania under Ceaușescu, Spain under Franco, East Germany with the Stasi, under the Soviet Union/Russia. Like the cold war was for nothing.

It's what the 3/5ths compromise of 1787 was all about. They'll always be here. We're still living under their EC bullshit but have always managed to keep them somewhat at bay.

The Civil War was the big one. They seem to want another one but they're all spaced out geographically now in the country.

It will not surprise me if within the next 2 election cycles, there is a minority rule in almost every state and the federal government. Hell, they have almost got it now.
