Richard Nixon Flag of United States flew Air Force One back home after resigning the Presidency (1974).

As Gerald Ford Flag of United States was being sworn in in Washington DC, the plane (over Missouri) was redesignated from Air Force One to "Special Air Mission 27000" - meaning no President was on board.
