Heavy Weather Here In Northern Illinois

3 tornado warnings already, since 3:30pm our time.
Moving east southeast, but it's a huge system.
Down here they're showing it hitting here in around 3.5 hours.
People in far west & northwest reaches of Chicagoland being told to take shelter.
30+% of the entire state is in a tornado watch.
They're saying sundown cooling might moderate what's heading our way, but I'm not counting on that.

The storm complex is headed east-southeast and some roads have been closed by torrential rains. I hear thunder as I’m typing this. Gather up your flashlights

Sirens just went, heading to the basement

That's a meteorological term from the amount of moisture in the atmosphere below 30,000 that could potentially become precipitation.
Anything over an inch is considered high!
They're talking 5 inches of rain in some areas because of what our news/weather people called "training".
Along the same path, the ground heat restores moisture to the air and spins up more storms.
Going to be a bumpy ride.
