What, if anything, is happening with the For the People Act? It seems to have been put on the back

burner while Republicans are re-gerrymandering and carving away large chunks of our democracy with laws to suppress the vote and toss out any Democratic success.

I'd be happy to hear that I am mistaken.

So, I guess it gets forgotten, along with democracy itself.

It’s so hard not to give up and just worry about oneself. No one seems to give a shit.

Until or unless Manchin/Sinema change their tune on filibuster reform, there’s nothing more than can be done.

doing nothing would not be an option.

I would break up the bill into individual pieces and bring each one up for a vote. Get dark money out of politics - 1 vote. Make gerrymandering non-partisan - 1 vote. Do it one vote after the other and if the GQP votes down every bill then go to Manchin and tell him you are doing a carve out for the filibuster for election/voting bills. Do it now, time is wasting.

Much negotiation will go on because of the two recalcitrant Dems, Sinema and Manchin and the Squad in the House.

It'll get done but with take weeks and the August recess is upon us soon. See the link.
