Interesting question for anti-vaxxers

Essentially, if the anti-vax crowd does not trust the medical community to protect them with a vaccine, then why do they trust the medical community to heal/treat them when they rush to the hospital after they start experiencing symptoms? Good for this guy for making that point after his wife was kicked out of a hospital due to the crush of anti-vaxxers dealing with COVID.

I isolated. Didn't see my grandkids for almost a year. I distanced. I wore a mask when you assholes had your nose sticking out or wore it on your goddam chin. I got the vaccine.

Now it's your fucking turn you ignorant mother fucker. No vax? Stay home and isolate. Get sick? Express your god given freedumb and die at home.

I did my part, now you do yours and just die and leave me the fuck alone.

I think a lot of them try to gut out covid denying they're sick for as long as possible. It's only when it's too late to do much good do a lot of these people show up at hospitals. Many having been dragged there by relatives or ambulances.

Some of them seem to have very rude awakenings when they realize they really are very, very sick. The whole covid thing is just not REAL to them until all, of a sudden, it IS. And when it does become agonizingly, terrifyingly, "OMG I CAN'T FUCKING BREATHE" real to them, it's too damned late, and they've already infected dog knows how many other people.

that it's just a new flu, that it's normal for people to get sick sometimes, and that they will actually improve their immune system by getting the "new flu." They believe that they are strong people who can endure a bad case of flu because they have a good immune system.

The same kind of mentality that says it's normal for the earth to heat up because it has happened in the past.

I was scheduled to have cataract surgery in March 2020. Then covid happened, and all "elective" surgeries were tabled indefinitely. When they were finally able to reschedule, I was too covid spooked and put it off.

Months passed. Vaccines came out, I was finally able to schedule my own shots, covid cases started dropping like a broken elevator, and I began to feel safe enough to schedule my surgery. I went to the ophthalmologist to see about getting things underway, and they immediately found a problem with one of my retinas that needs to be resolved first. Good news: it is fully treatable and my eye should be fine eventually. Bad news: my cataract surgery is on hold again, for an unspecified period of time.

Even worse news: while I was in the process of finding all this out, covid started surging again and unvaxxed idiots started filling up the hospitals. My state isn't one of the worst, by far, but it'll be hella ironic if I can't go ahead and schedule surgery once my retinal issue has settled down, because of a "pandemic of the unvaccinated." All I can do is wait and see, of course.

I have a feeling that a lot of people with a wide range of medical issues are going to see our care being adversely affected in a variety of ways until a hell of a lot more of these covidiots get their stupid asses vaccinated. In my case, it's a relatively minor annoyance, but for others it will undoubtedly be a BFD. How I WISH we could just round up these fools and vaccinate them all regardless of their precious "beliefs." I know we can't do that, but I can dream, right?

They are filled with contradictions. They trust hydroxychloroquin but not Big Pharma vaccines. No masks, no vax, but why am I sick? Every time they get their little petulant way they reverse course and want the exact opposite.

17. There are really 2 types of antivaxers, according to an antivaxer Dem friend
Wed Aug 11, 2021, 09:09 PM
Aug 2021

I am sharing my friends thoughts on this, since she and I have discussed antivaxers.

The original antivaxers are the health nuts, the paranoid types, and some religious nuts thrown in who won't get their kids vaccinated. They've been largely responsible for any resurgence of measles and other diseases that had been mostly eradicated because of vaccines. They will avoid hospitals and try to treat themselves and their families holistically. They mostly understand that masks help to prevent spreading covid, and they wear them because they're not vaccinated.
They joined the group long before 2020 and are a relatively small number.

This new group of imposter rethug antivaxers are not really antivaxers for the most part. They are ignorant, brainwashed, and against the covid vaccine because of political propaganda. They and their children were most likely vaccinated against any number of things, they would probably take a flu shot. They run to the hospital when they get sick, even if they don't believe in covid. They don't wear masks (unless they're mandated or have been influenced by someone who made a good case for why it's important to wear one). They called themselves antivaxers when the covid vaccine became available. They are the ones who caused this man's wife to be forced out of the hospital. But they in turn will be forced out when their oxygen levels increase, to make room for the more severe cases,

My friend is a democrat, a person of color, a single mother of an 11 year old who is on the autism spectrum and very bright and high functioning. She gets defensive when the subject of antivaxers comes up. She is very responsible considering she's not vaccinated, and she and her son always wear masks, she doesn't mingle or socialize. She argues that she is more careful about keeping safe than those who have been vaccinated or those who are called antivaxers, because she has continued to take precautions while both vaxed and rethugs took their masks off and started to socialize during a pandemic. I see her point. I've kept my mask on since getting my shot.

I've tried to gently persuade her to consider getting the vaccine, especially pointing out that while vaccinated people can get the virus, the odds of ending up with a severe illness, hospitalized or dead are greatly reduced. She is a dear friend, and an original antivaxer. I do sympathize but don't expect to change her mind about getting the vaccine. She gets upset when these jerks get called antivaxers because they're only against the covid vaccine. She thinks antivaxers are getting a bad rap. I tell her that they've coopted the term, and while being an antivaxer wasn't thought of in the best light before covid, it's now synonymous with right wing nuts, non maskers, and covid deniers for the most part. That sucks! They stole your name and ruined it. That's what rethugs do. Don't take it personally. But she does.

So on her behalf I wish there was different term for these rethugs who call themselves antivaxers. But it is what it is. They are the antivaxers now; the GQP, insurrectionists, self-serving liars, traitors, brainwashed, brainless, heartless, careless, shameless delusional, and worse. They are taking hospital beds from folks who need them, causing surgeries and procedures to be postponed, fighting against mask mandates for themselves and their children.
May covid reduce their numbers. May those that survive turn away from the GQP.

and may this man's wife recover from her Cancer!

No way should people who refuse to get the vaccine put medical staff at risk. Stay home you scum bags.
If you don't have a vaccine card then no treatment for you. Go the fuck home and suck on a air compressor hose.

This is why nurses are quitting. Why should they risk treating stupid, scum bag people.

America does not have a Covid emergency. We just have to many stupid people.

Hey dumb asses all your leadership got the vaccine. SUCKERS

I will agree to providing Hospice care. In a tent outside the hospitals using video.
