This has been the first statistic I've seen, during a fairly busy morning. State Department newser interrupts regular programming (with the rotating series of graphics tracking the latest COVID explosion, and your humble reporter had to go get some exercise before the heat got worse.

I wanted to see the progression, now that COVID has kicked things back up again. So, since the tracking is now more of "a thing" as of this week, these graphics have now reappeared, and with more details added. There are now graphics delineating not only Countries and States with the Most Cases (as before), but maps detailing New Cases in the Past 14 Days, Total Vaccinated (percentage and location), Change in New Cases over 14 Days, New US Cases (showing those reported so far today).New Cases over Past 72 Hours.

For those interested, at this hour, in a nutshell:
CALIFORNIA leads the states with most cases (Texas is next, followed by Florida, New York, and Illinois in that order.
FLORIDA has the most new cases over the past 72 hours, followed by Texas, California, Louisiana, and Georgia.
The U.S. leads the world in most cases, followed in order by India, Brazil, Russia, and France.
New US cases - 65,111 reported so far today. Yesterday at 10am, it was 40,901.
Total Vaccinated: 50.3%

1. Crap, sorry it took so long to draw all of this together.

I started an hour ago.

But I wanted to add more detail since we had lots of daily tracking information last year during the thick of it. The rotating graphics kinda dried up as everyone thought we were getting a handle on things. WRONG. And that means, inevitably with the graphics (and the nerds we all love and appreciate who compile them), they're BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK.
