There have been enough nasty cases, earlier on, that a lot of the residents either know someone, or know of someone who died or had a really bad time with the Covid. For example, my parents decided to hustle to get their shots after one of their neighbors landed in the hospital and came home on oxygen, which she'll probably need for the rest of her life.
