Some NYC Restaurants Pushing Back Against Vaccine Mandate:

‘I Just Don’t Think That We’re Gonna Be The Vaccination Police’

https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2021/08/12/nyc-restaurants-against-vaccine-mandate/

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Starting next week, proof of vaccination will be required in New York City for some indoor activities, including going out to eat, but not all restaurants are on board.

“Whether you’re vaccinated or not, you are welcome,” said Mary Josephine Generoso, manager at Pasticceria Rocco’s of Bay Ridge.

There’s a sign of protest in the window of the restaurant, defiant against Mayor Bill de Blasio’s upcoming vaccine mandate.

It reads, “We do not discriminate against ANY customer based on sex, gender, race, creed, age, vaccinate or unvaccinated. All customers who wish to patronize are welcome in our establishment.”

“I just do not feel that we’re gonna be able to sit there and ask customers to show if they’ve been vaccinated or not,” Generoso told CBS2’s Ali Bauman."

In about 10 minutes, I could find a blank form of a CDC vaccination certificate. Does the restaurant have to confirm that it's authentic?

What about foreign tourists who don't have cards from the CDC?

No COVID vaccination requirements.

As for me, I'll go to restaurants and eat outside (also no vaccination requirements)

The key question is; will small businesses be able to service and not fall afoul of the new regs.

two: one mistake never forgives another. Whataboutism 1.0.

We should be mandated by law to all be vaccinated, masked and temporarily quarantined. Pussy-footing about this crest, which was predicted since the last one started waning, has put us into dangerous waters with the mutating virus. Half-measures present all new dangers evolving daily.

It's just science.

In fact, I'm not eating indoors anywhere until this is over with (and if that's never, oh well).

Don't feel comfortable around unmasked people indoors and with no social distancing or occupancy limits too?

And if you want to commit a crime have at it.

They can make a reasonable effort to confirm the ID card isn’t crayon on cardboard.

A vaccination card is just on thick paper. They messed up by not giving small, scannable license type cards.

Decisions have consequences....

First offense 2 week shutdown.

Second offense 2 months.

Third offense -- lose your liquor license forever. Your name can never be on another liquor license ever.

And it's overwhelming our healthcare system to unheard of levels. Anti-vaxxers are terrorists and it's time to stop playing nice with them.

In areas like Staten Island, they will surely lose business because so many are unvaccinated here. Also, I can see it being a huge pain in the ass. Asking everyone who comes in to show their cards/picture of their cards takes time, is annoying as the sign-ins were in NYC, and creates lines.
