At the same time Covid is so hot there, the city is out of ICU beds per news reports. Lots of pictures on Facebook. Nary a mask to be seen, on them or the people in the background.

She works at a Burger King in our home town of 1,200, in deep red rural MN. Michelle Bachman territory. No masks, few vaccinated. Lots of MAGA flags and hoax talk. Not a lot of dining choices, so BK is always busy. If she gets infected, and infects her staff, I wonder how many in town they'll spread it to?

School starts in 2 weeks. The school is K-12, no separate elementary, middle and high schools, just a K-6 wing and a 7-12 wing. If her daughters are infected, without a mask mandate in lace to slow spread? Jesus.

And my mom is calling me weekly now, crying that she hasn't seen her granddaughter in over a year, why won't we come up to visit? Gee Mom, I wonder why that is?

1. My kids and Grands, went to Florida for a week vacation and

returned last Sunday. My DIL and grands are all vaxed. My Stepson is not.
My husband was with them on Sunday because he brought back their dog for whom we'd been sitting.
Guess who tested COVID positive on Monday? He waited until today to tell his after, who just came home from getting a test.
We are vaxed, but the urgent care told him to come right in.

Now we wait. I am livid.

2. I spent the week of August 19 in Tennessee and

North Carilina. Don't go there I haven't had as much as a cold for 2 years. After coming home from there I had flu sytoms then sinus and cold. I did the rapid test for COVID and came back negative but still not over it.

"You realize the virus is looking for someone to infect? It jumps right past us who have gotten a vaccine, and zooms over to the ones like you who aren't vaccinated. Probably won't work. I'm trying to appeal to their sense of "unfair!" and "grievance!" But they'll probably decide the right response is to hate us for "putting us in danger" by taking ourselves OUT of danger.

8. What an un-vaccinated person hears when you tell them COVID facts:

You: "Trump lied about the seriousness of COVID. If he had only treated it as the threat it is we wouldn't the greatest pandemic since 1918. He was a total failure as president."

What they hear: "Trump .......... is ...... the greatest ...... president."

It's impossible to use logic with someone who lives in Trumpworld. I had a friend of 30 years who was a Trump supporter. I say "had" because despite being 75 years old and diabetic he was didn't get vaccinated because (insert bullshit reason here). He died of COVID last month.
