Myths vs. Facts about the vaccine.

I decided to "do my own research" about the vaccine and I found this article debunking a lot of the myths. I thought it might be good to share so people can show it to others who are hesitating about getting a vaccine.

The vaccine will make women sterile; the vaccines are too new; the shots have a microchip in them; the vaccine itself will give me COVID; I’m immune because I had COVID; breakthrough cases prove vaccines are useless.

There are more. And none of them are true.

I think my favorite one is the microchip. Hello? Do you have a phone? What about a social security number? You're able to be tracked. Nobody needs to put a microchip in you.

3. That's only ONE of the craziest things I've ever heard about this vaccine - which saves lives!

Who ever came up with this nonsense and why does anyone believe it?? And a friend of this guy said he wasn't getting the vaccine because he refused "to be a guinea pig." All of our lives we've gotten vaccines. I even remember getting a couple of them right in school, but I was a kid so I can't say what they were. But we know that they prevent disease. What's so different about this one? Don't kids have to get vaccines before they can attend school? A few years back, a friend of mine returned to college and she had to get the MMR vaccine before she was allowed to attend classes. This is not a new idea.

5. You have no shortage of people who no-shit believe in lizard people

On one hand it’s a bit funny to point out how ridiculously moronic this kind of shit is. On the other you have someone who murdered their children over it. The worst and most destructive pandemic we are facing is the propagation of ignorant alternative realities.

9. This guy is normally pretty smart and sensible, but he's off the wall about the vaccine.

The subject originally came up when I was able to get vaccinated and I was so grateful and relieved that I told people. And this gentleman in his 80s said he wasn't getting vaccinated since his daughter - who is a nurse! - isn't getting the vaccine and he gets his medical advice from her.

I'm not really counting on it. The hard-liners will find another excuse... like "they're all liars".

They volunteered for trials. Not to mention they've been studying this for almost twenty years. They didn't just come out with the vaccine. It was already being studied.

It's not like they came up with these vaccines overnight, they've been studied for years - since both the AIDS and the SARS crisis. And yes, there were also trials before offering the current vaccines to the public. *sigh*
