(6,857 posts)definition of the word "prophet." That whole idea about predicting is not really a part of the job. Sometimes it's necessary, but not always. Not even a majority of the time. And even when it is used, it's more often than not simple common sense about natural consequences, and not any kind of "second sight."
So tired of hearing that there's no money for healthcare in the US.

You have more faith in human nature than I do. I wish I did. My problem is - I grew up in a house full of denial. And I saw first-hand how powerful it was. Its quite possibly the most powerful drug on Earth.

(7,410 posts)Planes, tanks, armored vehicles, communications equipment, fuel, MREs, munitions, ammunition, body armor, uniforms, etc, etc. Most of that stuff is produced domestically and creates jobs here. Also the salaries for reservist/active duty troops that support their families here at home, future VA benefits, etc.
I get what he's saying though instead of war, we could have spent it on something else like infrastructure or student loan forgiveness or health care, pick anything.
