1. Obama's plans for Afghanistan included a more cooperative Iran

thanks to the Iran deal. However Trump blew that up and did nothing in the region but destabilize it for four years. There is no doubt the loss of the Iran deal led to Biden giving up on Afghanistan. There was no viable working exit strategy anymore. There might never have been one.
