(54,378 posts)I live in Düsseldorf. Quite a few Germans in my neighborhood, actually, including my wife.
But they already know about Fox Noise, so they wont be surprised. The only thing that surprises them is that we allow Fox Noise at all, and that there are people left in America who believe what they hear there.

(16,845 posts)I made some friends from Germany back when I was in college, about 30 years ago. They all had a wonderful sense of humor, which sort of surprised me at first, because Germans had a reputation for being sort of serious and dark, at least when I was growing up. But I didn't see that at all in the Germans I met
There was one friend in particular that I spent a year drinking beer with, and we had a blast! He invited me many times to go see him in Germany, and I would have if I had ever made it to Europe, but I never had the money or the time simultaneously.
When I see clips like that of Americans being stupid regarding things German, I think of him and how much we used to laugh at people's foolishness. That's why I was suggesting people send that clip to Germans. I know at least one guy over there who would be highly amused!

(16,845 posts)After Trump, I know that any old piece of garbage can rise all the way to the top in this country. He started out wealthy, so it wasn't exactly a Horatio Alger story, but he rose far beyond the point he ever should have, even with the best luck.
I think we all learned that we can't take our government for granted, that it can all be over in no time. And we aren't out of the woods yet. So these clips like this are funny, but they are darkly comical, to say the least.
