Mary Trump says she checked into a PTSD treatment center after her uncle, Donald Trump, won in 2016

Mary Trump, former President Donald Trump's niece, wrote in her newly-released book, "The Reckoning: Our nation's trauma and finding a way to heal," that she sought treatment for PTSD after her uncle won the 2016 election.

The period following her uncle's victory severely impacted her mental health, according to an extract published by The Sunday Times. "For months, I alternated among states of dissociation, rage, and befuddlement," she wrote.

In April 2017, Trump said, she was in "the worst psychological shape" of her life, and, some months later, she decided to check herself into a treatment center in Tucson, Arizona.

The center specializes in PTSD, she wrote. "I would be there for weeks, excavating decades-old wounds and trying to figure out why my uncle Donald's elevation to the White House had so undone me," Trump added.

I recall starting my therapy about the same time and my therapist told me she had a major increase in patients and most of them were suffering anxiety of some sort over the election of tfg.

I should have done what Mary did, because until they called the win for Biden, I wasn't sure I wanted to live, especially in a country with so many fucking idiots that would vote for the VERY WORST candidate the US has ever seen.
